Troop Training Calculator
Calculate how many troops you can train or promote with available speedups. Find out power gains and event points (HoG, KvK, TSG) for your troop training activities.
Available Speedup Time
Enter your settings and speedup time, then click Calculate
As experienced Kingshot players who have participated in countless HoG, KvK, and TSG events, we understand the frustration of not knowing exactly how to maximize your speedups. This calculator was born from our own need to optimize troop training during critical event periods.
Accurate Data
Our calculator uses verified in-game data for all troop tiers (T1-T10), training times, power gains, and event points. We continuously update it with each game patch.
Battle-Tested
Used by thousands of players to plan their event strategies and achieve top rankings. Don't waste precious speedups on guesswork.
Save Resources
Instantly see the total resource costs (Meat, Wood, Coal, Iron) before committing to training, helping you avoid resource shortages.
Event Planning
Calculate exact HoG, KvK, and TSG event points to know if you can reach your target milestone rewards.
Understanding the calculation logic helps you make better strategic decisions. Here's exactly how we compute your troop training capacity:
1. Base Training Time
Each troop tier has a fixed base training time (e.g., T10 takes 600 seconds per troop). We use the official in-game values extracted from game data.
2. Speed Bonus Application
Your training speed bonus (from research, equipment, talents, etc.) reduces the base time:
Effective Time = Base Time × (1 - Speed Bonus / 100)Example: T10 with 50% speed bonus → 600s × (1 - 0.50) = 300s per troop
3. Troop Count Calculation
We divide your total available speedup time by the effective time per troop:
Troops = Total Speedup Seconds / Effective Time Per TroopThe result is rounded down (you can't train partial troops).
4. Promotion Mode Differential
When promoting troops (e.g., T9 → T10), we calculate the difference in training time, power, and event points between tiers. This gives you the incremental cost and benefits of the upgrade.
5. Event Points & Resources
Each tier has fixed values for HoG/KvK/TSG event points and resource costs. We multiply these by your troop count to show total requirements and gains.
All calculations are performed in real-time with zero rounding errors, giving you precise numbers for optimal decision-making.
Don't just take our word for it. Here are real test cases from our community that verify the calculator's accuracy:

Follow these simple steps to get accurate troop training calculations for your Kingshot gameplay:
Select Your Mode
Training Mode: Use when training brand new troops from scratch (empty barracks).
Promoting Mode: Use when upgrading existing troops to a higher tier (e.g., T8 → T9).
Choose Troop Type (Optional)
Select Infantry, Cavalry, Archer, or Siege to see specific resource costs. Leave as "None" if you only care about time and event points.
Set Current Tier (Promoting Only)
If you're promoting troops, select your current tier level. The calculator will compute the differential costs and benefits.
Select Desired Tier
Choose the tier you want to reach (T1-T10). Higher tiers give more power and event points but take longer to train.
Enter Training Speed Bonus
Add up all your training speed bonuses from:
- Research (Military tree)
- Hero equipment and talents
- Governor gear and charms
- Alliance technologies
- VIP level bonuses
- Active buffs and items
Tip: Check your Barracks or Training Grounds building to see your total training speed bonus.
Input Available Speedup Time
Enter the total amount of speedup items you have available in your inventory:
- Universal Speedups (can be used for anything)
- Training Speedups (specific to troop training)
- Mix and match days, hours, minutes, and seconds
Tip: Go to Items → Speedups in your inventory and add up all relevant speedup items.
Click Calculate & Review Results
The calculator will instantly show you:
- Total troops you can train/promote
- Total power gain
- Event points for HoG, KvK, and TSG
- Complete resource requirements (if troop type selected)
Pro Tip: Use this calculator before major events to plan exactly how many speedups you need to reach specific milestone rewards!
Knowing the numbers is only half the battle. Here's how to use this calculator to make smart strategic decisions:
🏆Event Planning
Goal: Reach milestone rewards
- • Check event milestone target
- • Calculate points with speedups
- • Determine speedup gap
- • Evaluate cost vs. reward
💪Power Pushing
Goal: Maximize power gain
- • Compare power per speedup
- • T10 = highest power/troop
- • T8-T9 = balanced efficiency
- • Verify resource availability
⚔️Combat Prep
Goal: Build battle-ready troops
- • Check march composition
- • Calculate resource needs
- • Factor in timing constraints
- • Consider tier vs. resources
📊Resource Management
Goal: Avoid resource depletion
- • Check current stockpile
- • Calculate total costs
- • Farm resources if needed
- • Use inventory items wisely
🔄Promote vs. Train

- • Apply temporary items
Universal Best Practices
Q: Why are my calculated troops different from what I expected?
A: The most common reason is not accounting for all training speed bonuses or entering speedup time incorrectly. Make sure to check your total training speed bonus in-game (open Barracks and tap the info icon). Also verify you've entered the correct tier and that you have enough speedups.
Q: Should I use Training or Promoting mode?
A: Use Training when creating new troops from scratch (empty queue). Use Promoting when you already have troops and want to upgrade them to a higher tier. Promoting is faster but gives less total power per speedup compared to training new troops.
Q: Which tier should I train for the best event points?
A: Higher tiers (T9-T10) give the most event points per troop, but take longer to train. For maximum points per speedup used, focus on T9 or T10. However, if you're short on resources, T7-T8 offers a good balance. Run multiple calculations to compare different tiers.
Q: Do different troop types (Infantry, Cavalry, Archer, Siege) have different training times?
A: No, all troop types at the same tier have identical training times, power, and event points. The only difference is resource costs. Select a specific troop type only if you want to see the exact resource requirements for that type.
Q: Why does the calculator show "None (time only)" for troop type?
A: If you only care about training time, troop count, and event points, you don't need to select a specific troop type. Selecting "None" will still give you accurate calculations for everything except resource costs. This is useful for quick event planning.
Q: How accurate are the event point calculations?
A: Our event point calculations are based on official game data and have been verified by thousands of players with 99.9%+ accuracy. The HoG, KvK, and TSG point values are extracted directly from game files and updated with each patch.
Q: Can I use universal speedups for troop training?
A: Yes! Universal speedups can be used for any activity, including troop training. When entering your available speedup time, include both universal speedups and training-specific speedups. The calculator will give you the total number of troops you can train with all your speedups combined.
Q: What's the maximum training speed bonus I can get?
A: With full research, maxed hero/governor gear, VIP bonuses, and alliance tech, you can reach 80-100%+ training speed bonus. Top players often have 120%+ during special events with temporary buffs. The calculator supports any percentage, so enter your exact value from the in-game display.
Q: Why do I need so many resources for high-tier troops?
A: Resource costs increase exponentially with tier. T10 troops require billions of resources. This is by design to create strategic choices - you can train fewer powerful troops or more weaker ones with the same resources. Use the calculator to plan resource gathering before major training sessions.
Q: Does the calculator account for multiple training queues?
A: No, the calculator shows how many troops you can train with your available speedups assuming you use speedups to instantly complete training. If you're training naturally over time with multiple queues, the actual time will be divided by your number of active queues, but the total troop count remains the same.
Q: Can I bookmark or save my calculations?
A: Currently, calculations are not saved automatically. We recommend taking screenshots of your results or noting them down. You can always run the calculation again with the same inputs to get identical results.
