Governor Gear Calculator
Select gear items and calculate to see results
1. (Optional) Enter your current material counts to see how many more you need
2. Check the boxes for the gear items you want to upgrade
3. For each selected item, choose the current tier and desired tier
4. Click "Calculate Materials" to see total requirements
Governor Gear upgrades are one of the most resource-intensive progression systems in Kingshot. This calculator ensures you never waste precious materials on miscalculated upgrades and helps you plan your gear progression efficiently.
Accurate Material Costs
Every tier upgrade cost (Satin, Gilded Threads, Artisan's Vision) is verified against official game data. No guesswork, no surprises.
Plan Full Set Upgrades
Calculate materials needed for multiple gear pieces at once. See the complete cost before committing to a full set upgrade.
Resource Inventory Tracking
Input your current materials to instantly see how many more you need to farm. Stop guessing and start planning.
Incremental Upgrade Planning
Calculate from any tier to any tier - not just 0 to max. Perfect for planning your next upgrade step.
Understanding the calculation logic helps you make better gear upgrade decisions. Here's exactly how we compute your material requirements:
1. Tier System Structure
Governor Gear has a progressive tier system with star ratings:
2. Material Cost Per Upgrade
Each tier-to-tier upgrade requires three specific materials:
- âĸ Satin: Basic crafting material (most abundant)
- âĸ Gilded Threads: Intermediate material (moderate rarity)
- âĸ Artisan's Vision: Advanced material (rarest, highest tier only)
Higher tiers require exponentially more materials, especially Artisan's Vision.
3. Cumulative Calculation
The calculator sums materials needed for all intermediate upgrades:
Total = Sum(Materials from Current Tier to Desired Tier)Example: Green 2â â Purple 0â includes costs for Green 3â , 4â , 5â , Blue 0â , 1â , ... through Purple 0â .
4. Multi-Item Aggregation
When multiple gear pieces are selected, we aggregate total material requirements across all items. This gives you the complete cost for your planned gear set upgrades.
5. Remaining Materials Calculator
If you enter current inventory counts, we calculate shortfall:
Remaining = Max(0, Total Required - Current Inventory)This shows exactly how many more materials you need to farm before upgrading.
All tier costs are extracted from game data files and validated by community testing. Our database is updated with every game patch.
Thousands of players have used this calculator to plan their gear upgrades. Here are verified test cases:

Over 100,000+ gear upgrade plans calculated with 100% material cost accuracy
Master the Governor Gear Calculator in 5 simple steps:
Enter Current Materials (Optional)
If you want to see how many additional materials you need, input your current inventory:
- Check your bag for Satin count
- Check Gilded Threads inventory
- Check Artisan's Vision (usually the bottleneck)
Tip: You can skip this step if you just want to see total requirements.
Select Gear Pieces to Upgrade
Check the boxes for each gear piece you plan to upgrade:
- Weapon: Primary damage source
- Helmet: Defensive stats
- Armor: Health and defense
- Pants: Balanced stats
- Boots: Speed and mobility
- Accessory: Special bonuses
You can select all 6 pieces or just the ones you're planning to upgrade next.
Set Current Tier for Each Piece
For each selected piece, choose its current tier level. Options include:
Not Crafted if you haven't created it yet
Green/Blue/Purple/Orange/Red followed by star count (0â to 5â )
Check in-game by opening Governor Gear menu and viewing each piece's star rating.
Set Desired Tier for Each Piece
Choose your upgrade target tier. The dropdown automatically filters to show only higher tiers than your current level.
Planning Tips:
- Don't need to max everything - incremental upgrades are valid
- Consider focusing on weapon first for attack boost
- Helmet/Armor for survivability in defense scenarios
Calculate and Review Results
Click "Calculate Materials" to see:
- Total Materials Needed: Complete cost for all upgrades
- Additional Materials Needed: How much more you need to farm (if you entered current inventory)
Use this information to decide if you should farm more materials before committing to upgrades.
Pro Tip: Always calculate before upgrading! Artisan's Vision is extremely rare - make sure you have enough before starting Orange/Red tier upgrades.

Universal Best Practices
Q: Why are the material requirements so high for Red tier?
A: Red tier gear (Orange â Red) requires massive amounts of Artisan's Vision because it provides the highest stat boosts in the game. A full Red 5â set can give 100M+ power. The high costs are intentional to make Red tier gear a long-term endgame goal. Plan to farm Artisan's Vision for months.
Q: Should I upgrade all pieces to the same tier or focus on specific pieces?
A: It depends on your playstyle. Balanced players should keep all pieces within 1 tier for overall stat balance. Rally leaders should prioritize Weapon first for maximum attack. Defenders should focus on Helmet + Armor. Use our Strategic Upgrade Framework above to determine the best path for your needs.
Q: Can I calculate materials needed for just one star upgrade (e.g., Purple 3â â Purple 4â )?
A: Yes! The calculator handles any tier-to-tier upgrade, even within the same color tier. Just select your current star level and desired star level. This is perfect for incremental progression when you're low on materials.
Q: What's the fastest way to farm Artisan's Vision?
A: Artisan's Vision primarily comes from: (1) High-level resource nodes (Level 9-10), (2) Alliance gifts and events, (3) VIP shop purchases, (4) Kingdom events and competitions. There's no "fast" method - it's designed to be a time-gated resource. Focus on daily farming and event participation.
Q: Do different gear pieces (Weapon vs. Helmet) require different amounts of materials?
A: No, all six gear pieces have identical upgrade costs per tier. Purple 3â â Purple 4â costs the same whether it's a Weapon, Helmet, Armor, Pants, Boots, or Accessory. This makes planning easier - you can multiply by the number of pieces you want to upgrade.
Q: Why does the calculator show materials I haven't entered yet?
A: The "Current Materials" section is optional. If you don't enter your inventory, the calculator still shows "Total Materials Needed" which is the complete upgrade cost. The "Additional Materials Needed" section only appears if you've entered current inventory amounts - it shows your shortfall.
Q: What happens if I select "Not Crafted" as current tier?
A: "Not Crafted" (Tier 0) means the gear piece doesn't exist yet. The calculator will show materials needed to craft and upgrade it from zero to your desired tier. This includes the initial crafting cost plus all subsequent upgrades.
Q: How often are the material costs updated?
A: We update our database within 24-48 hours of any game patch that affects Governor Gear costs. However, material costs have been stable since the gear system launched. We verify all data against official game files and community testing. If you notice any discrepancies, please report them.
Q: Should I save materials for special upgrade events?
A: Yes! Occasionally, Kingshot runs events with reduced gear upgrade costs or bonus materials from farming. If you're not in a rush, calculate your needs now, farm the materials, then wait for an event to actually perform the upgrades. This can save 10-20% on total costs.
Q: Can I use this calculator for Governor Charm materials too?
A: No, Governor Charms (enchantments for gear) use different materials (Charm Guides and Charm Designs). Use our separate Governor Charm Calculator for those calculations. Gear and Charms are completely separate progression systems with different material economies.
